Narrative: Year after year the faithful people of Israel had commemorated the dark night of
death in which the first born of every unmarked home in Egypt died. That night
had been God’s means of setting them free from bondage. On the night before He would die, Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples for the last time. On that Maundy Thursday Jesus turned the ritual of Passover into an entirely new event. The church on earth will celebrate our Lord’s Supper until He returns for us.
The different personalities among Jesus’ disciples are still found among us today, all humbled by the bearer of the Crown of Thorns.
Easter Card Message: And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)
