Ascension Shrine

Ascension Shrine by Mary Billingsley

Format Descriptions    Item Code: MBASC

Quantity:

Narrative: They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11)

This shrine depicts the glorified body of Christ ascending into heaven, represented here by a cut glass circle reminiscent of a monstrance. The two men in white are angels. Surrounding the sphere of light is a flurry of celestial beings eagerly awaiting Christ. The margins, which are gold to represent the liturgical color of this feast, depict ascending vines. Horizontal and vertical bands intersect the whole, evoking the cross

Easter Card Message:
Let us rejoice in the love and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Joyous Easter Blessings.  God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. (Psalm 47:5)
