Narrative:
The Risen Christ raises His right hand in blessing, while triumphantly holding the Cross that symbolizes His victory over death. Christ appears to us robed in brilliant white, recalling His garb at the Transfiguration, “And he was transfigured before them; his face shown like the sun and his clothes became white as light” (Matthew 17:2).

The Greek letters outside of His halo are the abbreviation for “Jesus Christ.” The words “I AM” inside of His halo symbolize His divinity and refer to His words, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” The large oval halo radiating from Him represents Christ's transcendent glory, revealed to His disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration.
