Narrative:
Depictions of Christ as King occur frequently in iconography. Through his birth, life, death and resurrection, Jesus overcomes death and evil, inaugurating the Reign of God and winning the crown of glory as King of all creation.

In this icon, Christ is shown noble and strong, holding an open text with right hand outstretched in proclamation. He has been anointed by God to bring about God’s Kingdom.
