Narrative: A most popular theme in Christian iconography is Jesus and his mother Mary.
Christ is often depicted as a small adult, fully wise even as a child. Mary,
through gesture or contemplative gaze, shows deference to her son, pointing the
way to the savior of the world. Her role is to bring all to the love of
Jesus.
